[Seel ran out of there, wishing he had a horse for better time.He supposed he could use one of the mopeds but really, he preferred the horse. He made it to the library and waited, doing his best to look at the pathetic supply of books and make it seem like he was actually interested.]
[Delmar manages to remember to say 'thank you' before hanging up, but just barely. His pulse is racing and his heart is trying to bang its way free out of his chest. He's actually a little relieved when Seel shows up.
How unexpected, given their first interactions with one another]
Thank you for coming.
[A pause]
I saw that your name is on that horrible list too...
[Adversity an hardship had a way of bringing people together unexpectedly, being forced to rely on people you would not otherwise think necessary.]
Your welcome. I appreciate you reaching out to me.
[It's unexpected, but, adversity. But just in case Delmar has an unexpectedly violent side, well, Seel has a gun.]
I probably should have been more diplomatic to the Null, but I wasn't getting anywhere with them being polite and they weren't interested in a compromise.
They do, and they seem to be adding to that list. Anyone who outright wont play their game. If I were you--you're not on their list yet right? Keep out of it. Play neutral.
[Seel had originally written Delmar off as not exactly the brightest bulb on the planet, but his deviousness was inspiring and it brought a smile to his face. He grabbed a few books off the shelves before he found a blank one and a pencil and began to sketch something. He'd need larger paper in order to plan better, but at the moment, it would have to do.]
Someplace that can resist weaponry. Hidden. I built something similar before, but I used a sulfur lake instead of a bakery. No one wants to go near the town that smells like ass. You're thinking something like a shelter, some kind of fortification under the bakery?
[Seel was ever so grateful it was an audio conversation. That way he could keep working. Video and text both meant hands couldn't be free. As such, Cal might hear Seel walking, maybe even some hammering or other construction sounds.]
I'm not dead. You told me to be nice to Delmar.
I'm being nice.
Are daily updates an order now? Or are you concerned?
[Seel started hammering. That was not what he wanted to hear. He wanted a nice, simple answer. The kind that Swift gave him. The 'yes, of course I still love you but I'm pissed off as hell and you need to be a nicer har. What is wrong with you?' He liked those. This involved more self reflection than he wanted to do. Seel was self aware enough to know that he didn't like what lay beneath the surface. It was easier to just fool yourself into thinking you were wise and self aware.]
